Commercial Solar is a specialized field.
Ekonomix Solar specializes in providing economic long-term energy solutions for commercial customers. We are principally a solar energy design and install enterprise and compliment these systems with supporting management and control technologies such as Battery Storage, Voltage Optimization and Power Factor Correction. The company is a leader in the design and installation of both on grid and off grid systems.
Underpinning and driving the success of our company are two fundamental business objectives:
- To build and maintain a satisfied customer base through superior quality service;
- To nurture long term relationships with our customers, suppliers and their employees.
Our commitment is to deliver quality commercial solar solutions, utilizing the latest technology at the best price possible. We achieve this by thoroughly researching the needs of your business, understanding your financial parameters and designing a system to meet your circumstances. The solar energy industry is one of constant change both in terms of technology and the requirements of the various State regulatory authorities. Ekonomix prides itself on being up to date with the latest technology and regulations.
Why Solar and Why Ekonomix
Owning a solar system is commissioning your own power plant with no running costs. No need for coal, diesel or gas to run the generators, the sun does it for you. Your solar generator future proofs your business against the rising cost of power with a one-off investment.
It is cash flow positive from Day 1 even if you borrow the full cost.
What we do for you:
- Calculate your system needs;
- Design the system;
- Make all the necessary applications to the statutory authorities;
- Handle any queries;
- Arrange all the documentation;
- Install, test and commission the system;
- Coordinate the final approval for the system by the regulator;
- Offer you an ongoing maintenance agreement at a set price.
What sets us apart?
- Finance available at better than bank interest rates;
- We carry out a detailed analysis of your daytime usage patterns to establish the right size system for you;
- Our qualified accountant will then prepare a financial report using independent data from the Bureau of Meteorology to quantify your savings on a monthly basis;
- We will prepare a report of the potential for further savings using the complementary technologies of Voltage Optimization and Power Factor Correction;
- We offer an ongoing maintenance agreement tailored to you circumstances.
Safety (OH&S) Management Plan
Ekonomix Solar is fully committed to:
- ensuring a safe work place for its employees and sub-contractors;
- continually striving to improve safety performance
- instilling a cultural mindset in the company to achieve an incident free work environment.
This is achieved by identifying and rectifying any unsafe work conditions and or practices, as well as promoting a safe working environment as documented in our Safety (OH&S) Management Plan.
Our team recognize that in order to achieve an outstanding safety performance and best practice, we must have a proven systematic safety regime, committed management and a pro-active workforce.
We have implemented a comprehensive safety system across the business in full compliance with Workplace Health and Safety legislation.
All employees and sub-contractors are fully engaged in the system and are made aware of their responsibilities through company and project inductions, toolbox meetings, Safe Work Methods (SWMS) and / or Job Safety and Environment Assessments (JSEA).
Safety audits/inspections are conducted at workplaces and audits of our Safety (OH&S) Management Plan are conducted to ensure ongoing compliance and continuous improvement.
Quality Management Plan
The company prides itself on delivery of quality projects as evidenced by our customer testimonials.
The Quality Management Plan outlines the system designed to assure that our quality requirements and those of the client are identified and met. It defines how effective control is established using written procedures and includes provision for the prompt detection and rectification of defects in our procedures. It includes the responsibility of personnel at all levels and the procedures to be followed in managing quality issues.
This plan is to be used in conjunction with the Safety (OH&S) Management Plan and the Environmental Plan.
We understand the potential and actual significant aspects of our company facilities and project locations and the potential impact that these may have on the local environment and communities.
Our team recognizes that this is a social responsibility as well as a legal requirement. We strive to achieve an environment where there are no environmental impact incidents and develop a culture for resource management.
We work with the various stakeholders to ensure excellence in project planning. Significant issues are specifically identified as to their potential impact, risk and compliance requirements. Ekonomix aspires to achieve zero incidents, compliance with ISO14001 and the specific conditions of the project approvals and requisites.
Accreditation and Insurances
Ekonomix Solar is member of the Clean Energy Council and the Master Builders Association.
Subcontractors are required to be members of the Master Electricians Association and Clean Energy Council accredited installers. They must maintain Public Liability Insurance for no less than $10,000,000. All systems are designed by our Clean Energy Council accredited designers.
We are first and foremost a solar design and installation company. Solar is a proven and reliable technology which provides cost effective electricity to offset daytime consumption. Dependent on individual State Government regimes, surplus generation can be fed back into the grid, although this is becoming less of an incentive with decreasing feed-in tariffs.
Good quality solar systems are very reliable, guaranteed for 25 years and expected to last 50 years. We can arrange for installation in all mainland Australian States and Territories (except WA).
Solar Output Monitoring
We offer a range of advanced and cost-effective solutions for monitoring and controlling the PV system designed to meet your specific requirements.
Battery storage technology still has a way to go before it offers the economic efficiency of solar but there are instances where it can be utilised in conjunction with the PV system.
Solar Smoothing enables solar system installations to operate on relatively small size grids whose spread-out nature make it significantly less resilient to the power output fluctuations than other networks in Australia.
It is a device to even out the peaks and troughs of solar PV system power production. Solar Smoothers are in effect small-scale energy storage systems which switch on when PV systems cut out due to partial or total shading from clouds or other obstructions. Its main uses to date have been in areas where grid stability is fragile in remote locations.
A solar system needs to be regularly maintained like any piece of equipment. We will design a maintenance program to meet your requirements and fit your budget. Alternatively, we can help you design and implement your own.
Voltage Power optimization (VPO)
Most Australian businesses are paying for electricity they don’t use. In most areas of Australia, the incoming voltage from the street is more than 245 volts on average. However, the operating requirement of most of your electrical plant and equipment is only 220 volts. The excessive voltage results in greater kilo volt amps or kVA than required and results in excess electricity charges.
Excess voltage also shortens the lifespan of your valuable equipment and can cause motors to burn out prematurely.
Voltage optimization will reduce the incoming voltage to your operating requirement of 220 volts and maintain it at that level. On average your energy consumption is lowered by up to 18%.
We analyze your historical incoming voltage data and then give a report and system price with a guaranteed annual saving.
Power Factor Correction (PFC)
Power Factor is the efficiency of use of power in your business. If your Power Factor is low, you may be paying more than you need for your electrical infrastructure. If you are regularly registering less than 0.9, you have a low Power Factor. Network regulations usually mandate that customers maintain a minimum Power Factor of 0.9.
PFC is utilized where businesses are being charged a demand or fixed rate infrastructure tariff. PFC can have the effect of reducing the provisioning requirements (basically the size of the feed) to meet the energy needs of the business. This usually leads to a reduction in fixed rate infrastructure charges. PFC equipment can also assist where a demand expansion is anticipated such as a new business initiative or equipment install. Expensive transformer upgrades can sometimes be avoided
